With the 4th of July around the corner, we wanted to share some good ole-fashion stars and stripes party inspiration. Whether you’re planning an annual 4th of July barbecue or tying the knot on Independence Day, we’ve got inspiration for you! Food Fourth of July parties are all about the food. Opt for the classics like grilled hot dogs and hamburgers or smoked barbecue. For sides, you can’t go wrong with some mac ‘n’ cheese. Maybe spice things up and try out a jalapeno and bacon mac ‘n’ cheese. Growing up at my neighborhood 4th of July pool parties, I always remember having watermelon and berries, so maybe serve some fresh fruit on the side! A new trend we’ve been seeing is pimento cheese. You can make pimento cheese sandwiches, or offer it as a dip along with some buffalo dip and either chips or veggies. Dessert And following the main course is dessert. Ice cream and popsicles are always a great go-to, but there are so many other options as well! Go all out with a Captain America cake! Serve red-themed desserts such as chocolate covered strawberries or red velvet desserts. Find a local bakery to make cupcakes with classic American flavors such as maple and bacon, or peanut butter and chocolate. Drinks We can’t forget the drinks. Alongside your favorite beer, serve up some classic Coca-Cola. You’ll also want to make sure guests stay hydrated, so consider having some citrus or berry-infused water in a dispenser for guests to serve themselves. Favors If you’re wanting your guests to walk away with some favors, consider offering red, white, and blue koozies, perfect to use at your pool party or wherever you’re hosting! Another fun choice is getting homemade jams or apple butter from a local farm, such as Jaemor Farms and R and A Orchards. Few things are more American than supporting small, local businesses! Memorial Tribute If you have family members or friends who have either served or died serving, make sure to take a moment to thank them and commemorate them. We have freedom because of their sacrifices. Red, White & Blue Decor It wouldn’t be a 4th of July party without some red, white, and blue. Decorate tables, guest books, the bar, and anything else with patriotic colors and flags. Sparklers Last but not least, why not light up some sparklers?! Sparklers are a great send-off if you’re having a 4th of July wedding, or they’re just a fun option at the end of the night during a party’s fireworks display. Happy 4th of July! We’re genuinely so grateful for all the men and women who have served our country to allow us the freedoms we have. May we not take their sacrifices for granted.
