This Valentine’s Day make it a priority to schedule a date night. I know planning a date night may not always be the easiest task so below I gave you 10 different date ideas that range from outdoor activities to a weekend away. Yonah Mountain, located in the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest, is one of my personal favorites. Nothing beats getting outside and enjoying nature while spending time with the one you love. Grab your hiking boots, water bottle, and granola bars and hit the trails this Valentine’s Day. There are many popular trails in the North Georgia region that are great for a Valentine's hike. 2. Amicalola Falls State Park Enjoy a picnic with a view. This waterfall is noted as one of the best waterfalls in the North Georgia area with waters that tumble 729 feat. Climb the stairs to the top or set up your picnic at the bottom. Either way, it is a sight to see this Valentine’s Day and still gets you out into nature without the strenuous hike. 3. Swan Drive in Theatre Located in Blue Ridge, Georgia this drive in theatre is the perfect way to surprise your loved one with a romantic night out. If you are tired of the boring old movie theater, then drive up to Blue Ridge and watch a showing of new movies this Valentine's Day weekend. Visit their website for times and dates of showings. 4. Chateau Elan Winery and Resort This year Chateau Elan is hosting a Valentine’s Day Wine paring dinner at marc. This event will take place February 14 from 7:00p.m-9:00p.m and will include a winery tour with a three course chef-curated meal paired with wines selected by their Winery Sommelier. This is not the only Valentine’s Day option they offer. Schedule a spa package, an overnight stay, or a public winery tour. You can find more events and information over on their website. 5. Mini Vacation in Dahlonega, Georgia Stay this Valentine’s Day weekend in the beautiful city of Dahlonega. Cavender Creek Cabins is North Georgia’s distinguished full service cabin resort. Only 4 miles from town, enjoy the morning view from your private deck and then head into town to The Corkscrew Café for an exquisite brunch. Enjoy the rest of their historic downtown, wineries and vineyards, or outdoor adventures. Dahlonega, Georgia is the perfect place for a romantic weekend away. See everything that Dahlonega has to offer. 6. Indoor Rock Climbing This is a fun way to be active but does not require a huge commitment. Adrenaline Climbing in Suwanee has several different climbing options to choose from including options for beginners. You can rent all the gear from them and just walk in. They offer 12,500 sq. feet of climbing surface, 80 climbing routes, and 25 ft. high climbing walls. They allow you to choose what you would enjoy doing the most. In Atlanta alone they have The High Museum of Art, The Atlanta History Center, and The World of Coca-Cola among many others. Take a drive to Atlanta, buy a ticket into the Coca-Cola factory, and taste all of the different flavors of Coke from all over the world! 8. Masterpiece Mixers BYOB and create your own masterpiece. Masterpiece Mixers has several locations in the North Georgia Region where you can watch, learn, and create your own painting. Each location has their own calendar so check out their website to see what painting you would like to create with your sweetheart this year. 9. The Sun Dial Restaurant The Sun Dial provides a unique dining experience while enjoying a 360 degree view of Atlanta. It allows you to enjoy a spectacular skyline view from 723 feet above. Try their Filet Mignon with blue cheese potato croquette, charred scallions, and mushroom sauce followed by their delectable red velvet cake for dessert. Located at the top of the Western Peach Tree Plaza, the Sun Dial Restaurant will not disappoint you this Valentine's Day. 10. Have a Romantic Evening In If going out does not appeal to you then plan something special in the comfort of your own home. Play a board game, make your own sushi, sit down and enjoy a meal together, and then get in your PJs and rent a cute movie. However, if this is something you do on the regular then try to get out and explore. You would be surprised at everything that North Georgia has to offer for you and your loved one this Valentine’s Day. I like Adrenaline Climbing in Suwanee because of the exhilarating rush I feel as I scale the challenging walls and push my physical limits.
