Baby showers are a fun way to celebrate the new mom-to-be and her little one on the way. But when it comes to actually planning the shower, there are so many different themes and ideas out there that it can be hard to choose. You want something fun and colorful, but probably different than the typical pink or blue shower. Luckily, I’m here to help! I’ve put together a list of 6 fun and unique baby shower themes perfect for you.
Winnie the pooh baby shower theme with yellow and blue balloons, desserts, flowers, and decorations.
1. Winnie the Pooh
Winnie the Pooh is a classic and lovable character. He’s loyal and cares for his friends, so what better way to invite the new baby into the world than with a loyal friend? With blue and yellow balloons and flowers, honey decorations, and sweet treats, this baby shower is sure to be adorable. Plus, if the mommy-to-be is having a little girl, you can easily switch up the colors to yellow and pink!
2. Safari
Animal inspired parties are big right now - and not just Great Dane big. I mean elephant big. Why not add a fun twist to the animal theme by throwing a safari baby shower? There are so many ways you can go with this. Safaris can be in the desert, they can travel through the jungle, or they can venture through grassy plains. Looking to do a desert safari? Try incorporating more neutral colors throughout your decor. Want a jungle theme? Get balloons of various shades of green. If you’re thinking of going the plains route, incorporate several different types of animals you might see. There’s lots of room for adding your own ideas here!
Safari themed birthday party for boy's 1st birthday. Decorated with turf grass wall, large stuffed animals, and green and gold balloons.
Woodland theme baby shower with desserts, animal printed invitations, a stump cake, and mama and papa bear signs.
3. Woodland Theme
This next theme is perfect for mama’s little boy (or even a little girl). If you like a woodsy feel but want to stay away from the rustic look, throw a woodland themed baby shower! Have fun getting creative with your food display. Maybe arrange the cheese, nuts, and crackers to look like a hedgehog. See if a local baker can make a tree stump cake. Come up with fun little names for all of the snacks. If you want to decorate your nursery into a woodland theme, ask your guests to bring presents to match the theme! You can even design cute invitations to go along with the shower.
4. Children's Books
If you’re an avid reader, try this children’s book themed shower! Each table can host a different children’s book and have matching decorations. For The Very Hungry Caterpillar, you could buy a stuffed caterpillar and surround it with different foods from the book. For Good Night Moon, bring the ‘Great Green Room’ to life with two little kittens and a pair of mittens, or with a photo of a cow jumping over the moon. You can pull snack ideas from the books, too!
Children's books baby shower with Cloudy with a chance of meatballs, Corduroy, Green Eggs and Ham, and other themed snacks.
Baby shower decorated as Swan Lake with pink desserts and paper decorations, swan shaped banners, greenery, and pink and white flowers.
5. Swan Lake
If you’ve got a princess coming soon but don’t want to go the Disney route, try this Swan Lake baby shower idea! Decorate with light pinks and purples with accents of gold or silver. Fresh white flowers or greenery would look great on tables or hanging from banisters or shelves. Add some faux white feathers into the decor to give the shower an extra pop.
6. Citrus
Don’t know if you’re having a girl or a boy? You can still have a “cutie” baby shower while sticking to a more neutral theme! Add a pop of color into the party with orange frosted cookies, favors wrapped like clementines, and peachy colored flowers. Create cute invitations with clementine designs and fun sayings on them. Have a mimosa bar with citrus juices and slices of oranges, grapefruits, and lemons (and make sure to have a non-alcoholic version for the new mommy). Instead of going with a vanilla cake, freshen it up with a lemon or orange cake!

I hope these ideas give you some inspiration for your baby shower. Do you have other fun ideas you’ve seen? Share them below in the comments! Readers who like this have also read Summer Wedding Favor Ideas!
