Below is our standard 5 hour wedding timeline. Your exact times and order of events will vary based off of what you would like. This is a general guide to help you navigate how much time each individual event will take on the day of your wedding. It also shows you what the standard order of events is for a typical wedding.

A timeline is extremely important to have because without it your event could get a little chaotic.

The more specific the better, but it is important to keep in mind that it is okay for the events to not be exactly on time. The timeline is built for fluctuation because we all know trying to make things run perfectly and exactly the way you plan just never works out. There is wiggle room for each of these events, but generally these are how long each of them will take. I have weddings that run exactly according to the timeline which is great, but I’ve also had weddings that need a little extra time for pictures and a little less time for dinner. It happens. Know that fluctuation is okay, but also know that staying as close to the timeline as possible will result in a seamless event.
 
This is the job for your wedding planner. Read all about why you should hire a wedding planner. Your timeline is not something you should have to worry about on the day of your wedding. Your wedding planner is the one that will keep everything running on time so you can just enjoy your day. However, having this timeline prepared ahead of time will be great for when you do meet with your wedding planner. You will be able to show her exactly what you are wanting.
